How to verify a certificate of analysis

For qualified laboratory researchers only. Not for human or veterinary consumption.

1. Find the certificate ID

Every batch carries a certificate ID in the form VLL-YYYYMMDD-XXXX-NN. It is shown with the batch documentation for the material and printed as the batch code on the vial label.

2. Go to the laboratory's verification page

Open kmdanalytical.com/verify in your browser. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from a third party, so you know the page you are on belongs to the laboratory.

3. Enter the certificate ID

Enter the ID exactly as printed, including the hyphens and the two-digit suffix. The laboratory returns the report it issued for that ID.

4. Compare batch code, date and purity

Check that the batch code on the report matches the vial in front of you, that the issue date is the date supplied with the documentation, and that the purity percentage and mass confirmation match what was published.

Why an unedited, lab-issued report matters

A report that has been re-typed, cropped or re-branded is no longer evidence of anything: the numbers can be changed without leaving a trace. We publish the document the laboratory issued, in full, including the header, chromatograms and signature. That is also why the manufacturer named on a report is sometimes the supplier the raw material came from rather than VOW LABS, and why no VOW LABS branding or vial artwork appears on it. The document belongs to the laboratory, not to us.

Common questions

Where do I find the certificate ID?

The certificate ID is printed on the batch documentation shown with each catalogue entry and matches the batch code on the vial label. Both must agree before you compare anything else.

Why does another company's name appear on the report?

The report is issued by the laboratory to the party that submitted the material, so the name and vial pictured can be the manufacturer the raw material was sourced from rather than VOW LABS. The document is published exactly as the laboratory issued it, which is why no VOW LABS branding or artwork appears on it.

What if the details do not match?

If the batch code, issue date or purity figure on the certificate does not match the documentation supplied with the material, stop and contact us before use so the batch can be traced.
